PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for all the administrative issues of the Academy’s policy as it relates to management of the department in an effective and efficient manner towards attaining the vision of the Tax Academy.

Lagos, Nigeria


JOB DESCRIPTION - Duties and Responsibilities: Administrative Officer. As the Administrative Officer, you are to report directly to the Provost on the Activities of the Academy. 


The responsibilities of this position include but not limited to the following:



  • Answer and direct phone calls;

  • Organize and schedule appointments;

  • Plan meetings and take detailed minutes;

  • Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms;

  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports;

  • Develop and maintain a filing system;

  • Update and maintain office policies and procedures;

  • Order office supplies and research new deals and suppliers;

  • Maintain contact lists;

  • Book travel arrangements;

  • Submit and reconcile expense reports;

  • Provide general support to visitors;

  • Act as the point of contact for internal and external student members;

  • Liaise with the Provost and Academy Secretary on administrative issues in order to handle requests and queries;

  • Plan and coordinate administrative procedures and systems and devise ways to streamline processes;

  • Ensure the smooth and adequate flow of information within the academy to facilitate operations;

  • Manage schedules and deadlines;

  • Monitor inventory of office supplies and the purchasing of new material with attention to budgetary constraints;

  • Monitor costs and expenses to assist in budget preparation;

  • Oversee facilities services, maintenance activities and tradespersons (e.g electricians); and

  • Keep abreast with all organizational changes and business developments.

  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Registrar/Chief Executive, Provost/Academy Secretary and the Institute’s Council.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
• Must have B.Sc in any field in Management/Social Sciences with NYSC discharge/Exemption/Exclusion Certificate
• Must have a minimum of one (1) year post-qualification relevant experience;
• Possession of any related and/or  recognized professional qualifications is an added advantage ;
• Must be between 25 – 30 years of age;
• Excellent knowledge of modern Information and Telecommunications Systems;
• Must have flair for research.
