Join CITN, a Tax Administrators and Practitioners Insitute that determines the standards of knowledge and skills to be attained by persons seeking to be a professional tax practitioner in Nigeria.


Taxation Technician Scheme Members

These comprise of candidates who have to pass through the Taxation Technician Scheme (TTS) before graduating to become a professional student member. Candidates on this level will be required to write TTS1, and TTS2 Examinations after which they can proceed to the proffessional levels. However, passing TTS2 Examinations automatically qualifies any TTS student to start from PE1 on the proffesional levels.

Professional Student Members

In accordance with the Charter and Rules and Regulations of the Institute, a person is admitted as a professional member of the Institute if he/she satisfies the basic requirements of student membership of the Institute as stipulated in the Charter.

Direct Membership

These comprise of candidates coming into the Institute directly without passing through examinations.

THE CRITERIA FOR DIRECT MEMBERSHIP

1. Accredited Nigerian Professional Institutions i.e. ICAN and ANAN with 1 year post membership experience;

2. Staff of State Boards of Internal Revenue i.e. on Grade level 10 and above on Senior Inspector Cadre or Asst. Manager Tax with Federal Inland Revenue Service with two (2) years post promotion experience and must have passed the JTB/FIRS final examination;

3. Lawyers with three (3) years post call to bar and cognate experience.

Completed form should be printed and sent to the Institute's Secretariat (Lagos or Abuja Liaison office) with your credentials duly attested by two financials members of the Institute.

NOTE:

Members are advised that it is compulsory for them to earn a minimum of 35 credit hours in a year, through participating in various tax education and other activities of the institute. Members who do not earn up to these stipulated credit hours stand the risk of being penalized.

The Mandatory Professional Training Programme (MPTP) of the Institute attracts a participation fee of N25,000 for members and N35,000 for non members
